Spinal Tumor
Recently,I operated on a patient, who developed lower limbs weakness gradually involving upper limbs also,in last 2 weeks.Eventually, he was bed ridden.I diagnosed him of having some pathology in cervical spine. MRI confirmed- a large cystic tumor compressing the cord at C3-C7 level.
I operated on that pt, and the very next day, to my surprise, he was lifting his all four limbs. Though, his power was not upto normal; but this dramatic improvement was also not expected by me!
God is great!

VERTIGO- CERVICAL SPODYLOSIS not a cause!
Vertigo- a feeling of spinning things around you, leading to unsteadiness in standing or walking; sometimes associated with vomiting/nausea.
Causes-
It is a great popular MYTH, that Vertigo is caused by Cervical spondylosis.
People come in OPD,and when I ask about the complaints; they donn't tell that they are suffering from vertigo-- they tell that they have a problem -named CERVICAL. They are so convinced with the inter-relationship of Vertigo and Cervical spondylosis that they forget to tell about vertigo/dizziness as their complaints at the first place.
They say- I am having cervical problem! - thanks to our Medical practitioners.
Some Facts regarding Vertigo-
First and Foremost, it is not caused by cervical spondylosis.
It is caused due to defects in internal ear-sending signals of balancing to Brain.
Most commonly, called-BPPV-( benign paroxysmal positional vertigo)
Symptoms:
Feeling of giddiness comes as soon as you try to lie down, and after some time this will subside if you are in the same position .As soon as you try to change the position of your head, again the same feeling of giddiness will come.
This is caused because the position of the three semicircular canals in your Internal ear changes,as you change your position.Exact pathology/Physiology can not be explained here, because ,this writing is for common people.
