Neck Pain

Neck Pain

Neck pain is nothing to shrug about.

It is one of the most common problems in day to day practice. We usually see patients with neck pain in one of four different scenarios:-

1. Cervical spondylosis-a relatively common cause for neck pain.

2. Caused by overuse like working on a computer for a long time.

3. Pre existing disease like- arthritis; or a tissue degeneration problem.

4. after some sort of accident or trauma to neck.

What is cervical spondylosis?

It is a degenerative change in spine—as the disc narrows, the adjacent joints are subjected to abnormal forces and pressures, leading to degenerative arthritis(joint inflammation),& bone spur formation(osteophytes).

Symptoms of degenerative Cervical spine:-

1. Neck pain

2. Pain around the back of shoulder blades.

3. Arm complaints-(pain, numbness or weakness)

4. Difficulty in performing hand actions skillfully or walking.
